IoT labs, no hardware.

LoRaWAN, Zigbee, Thread, NB-IoT. Real AT commands, a real ChirpStack, in the browser.

No card required. Découverte plan: LoRaWAN and LoRa P2P, 5 students. Then from €39 excl. VAT per month.

Text description of the map

Step 1

Place your nodes

One gateway, three nodes, one coverage ring per spreading factor. Drag a node: outside the ring, the gateway hears nothing.

Step 2

Type real AT commands

The terminal talks to the node’s daemon. AT+JOIN goes to ChirpStack; +EVT:JOINED comes back once the network accepts.

AT Terminal (LoRaWAN) 40

Step 3

Read what is on the air

Every frame lands in the inspector: DevAddr, port, payload, MIC, RSSI, SNR. These are the real values of the recorded session.

Inspecteur Réseau / Network Inspector

Aucune trame capturée. / No frames captured yet.

Step 4

The teacher sees everything

Who joined, who is sending, how many frames. Kill the gateway: the rings vanish and nothing gets through.

Five protocols, one map

Each protocol has its own range, computed by the radio engine. Pick one: the map changes scale.

Long range, spreading factors SF7 to SF12, a ChirpStack network.

Who it is for

  • BTS and BUT: structured labs, no hardware budget, no dedicated room.
  • Bachelor’s and master’s: ADR, multi-hop mesh, IPv6, simulated failures.
  • Teachers: build the lab, disturb the radio live, follow the cohort on one screen.
  • Buying for an institution?

Académique and Institution plans are quoted; purchase orders accepted.

Who is behind VirtIoT Lab

VirtIoT Lab is built and hosted in France by Joffrey Herard, an IoT networking trainer, in Reims. The platform grew out of a teaching-room problem: running LoRaWAN, Zigbee, Thread and NB-IoT labs without a hardware budget and without radio interference.
